Do you wish you had more time to spend with your friends and family? If so, you’re in excellent company. One study found that as many as eight in ten working adults wished for more time, whether or not they had kids. This dispels the notion among many parents that single people have so much extra time. We all feel the time crunch, so anything that saves this valuable resource is worth checking out.

Same-Day Dentistry

At Gentry Dental, we are excited to offer one leading-edge dental technology that is a renowned time-saver for patients who need a dental crown. With a traditional timeframe measured in weeks, finishing the dental crown process requires a minimum of two appointments.

But now, our team can provide you with a high-quality dental crown all on the same day and in one appointment. Trim that expectation measured in weeks to mere hours, and you’ll see why our one-day dental crown process is wowing our friends and neighbors in SouthPark, Barclay Downs, Myers Park, Dilworth, and Cotswold.

Traditional Dental Crowns vs. Same-Day CEREC Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth restoration that acts as a cap, covering all tooth surfaces. Traditional crowns are distinguished because your dentist orders the crown from an outside dental lab. Unfortunately, this created an inevitable gap in time between when the process began and when the final crown would be ready.

Dental technology may now bring the lab into the dental office to eliminate this gap. This process is called CEREC, an acronym whose vital parts are the two ‘C’s,’ which stand for Chairside and Ceramic. So we make our CEREC crowns from the same high-quality and durable ceramic materials as traditional crowns, but we create them completely in-office (i.e., chairside).

Dental Crown Uses

Dr. Gentry may recommend a dental crown for numerous treatments. However, the main reasons you may need a dental crown are:

  • To save a damaged tooth
  • To finish and protect root canal therapy
  • To hide cosmetic flaws like discoloration or fractures
  • To support a dental bridge
  • To complete a dental implant
