When was the last time you had a dental crown? You might remember because it took a while to get your completed restoration. You had to take time out of your busy schedule to visit your dentist for two long appointments, and then you waited for 2 to 3 weeks for the dental laboratory to complete your crown. How could you forget!

Well, we have good news for you when it comes to getting dental crowns in Southpark, NC. Innovative CEREC technology now allows us to complete your entire restoration during one short visit to our office. Here's how CEREC technology works.

What is CEREC?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. With 3-D technology, CEREC allows us to scan an image of your tooth directly to a milling machine located in our office. Dr. Gentry is able to customize your new restoration as needed, and the milling machine fabricates your new tooth according to her specifications. Your crown is crafted from high-quality ceramic porcelain that is customized in both shape and shade to match your existing teeth and restore the same function you had with your natural tooth.

Best of all, your new tooth can be designed, crafted, and delivered during one short appointment at Gentry Dental!

The Importance of Completing Your Treatment

If your tooth has been diagnosed with decay or a fracture that requires a dental crown, it is essential not to delay your treatment. Decay can progress into the nerve and root of your tooth and cause an infection in your tooth. A dental infection that is not treated promptly will progress, cause severe pain, and could result in tooth loss.

Now that we can complete your crown in one short appointment, there is no reason to delay your treatment and put your oral health in jeopardy. Contact us today to learn more about CEREC and schedule your next appointment.
