Charlotte NC Digital Dentistry
At Gentry Dental, one of our focuses is on providing high-quality dental care that is comfortable, efficient, and stress-free for our patients.
Besides our modern and calming environment, you’ll also find that our office is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art dental technology. We know you’ll appreciate how digital dentistry enhances the quality of your dental care.
Dr. Gentry chooses digital imaging for her practice because it offers many benefits for both doctor and patients such as:
- Clearer images equal a more accurate diagnosis.
- Images are available immediately, so Dr. Gentry can make treatment recommendations right away.
- Digital x-rays emit 80% less radiation for patients.
- Images are easily transferred to other providers if necessary.
3-D Cone Beam Imaging
This x-ray provides a 3-D view of your teeth and jawbone, which allows Dr. Gentry to plan implant surgeries more accurately, ensuring the 95% success rate that makes implants so effective. With this invaluable image, she can not only determine if you have enough healthy bone structure to successfully support a dental implant, she can also plan your implant placement with complete precision before your surgery even takes place.
Did you know that 3-D imaging can also be used for taking impressions of your teeth?
If you’ve had a crown procedure done, you may remember the messy, gooey impressions of your teeth that were necessary to fabricate your new tooth. 3-D imaging has revolutionized and streamlined the entire crown process.
Now we can scan a 3-D image of your tooth, which Dr. Gentry uses to customize your crown. This image is sent directly to our milling machine, which then creates your high-quality restoration based on that 3-D image. With digital technology, there are no more messy and uncomfortable impressions.
Our digital intraoral camera allows us to take full color pictures of your teeth and the inside of your mouth. They say “a picture’s worth a thousand words,” and it’s much easier to understand the type of treatment you need when you can see exactly what’s going on inside your mouth. Intraoral pictures help you make educated decisions about your dental care.
You'll see us adding additional equipment and technology to our office to make your experience even more exceptional. By 2017, we will be completely paperless, which allows us to more easily transfer your information to you, or pertinent providers when necessary. Our goal is to exceed your expectations at every visit, and digital dentistry is one of the ways we accomplish this goal.
We know you’ll love the differences that digital dentistry makes in the quality of your care. Contact our office today to learn more and schedule your next appointment.
